Chair for cabbage is an artifact from a with Bret Parker for Activating the Medium. I became interested in how visceral the sounds were and how they referenced the body and the fleshiness of it…how adding a speaker gave it a “voice” which forced the viewer to try and recognize the sound as a means to interpret what they where seeing. This sculpture artifact is an homage to the actual performance, the objects that sustain our bodies, and as a humorous reference to Joseph Bueys’ fat chair: cabbage, a healthy alternative to the fat wedge
