Painting with Algae (2018)

Combining spirulina algae and calcium carbonate mimics the natural structure of coccolithophores, marine algae known for their intricate calcium carbonate shells. The botanical-style depiction blends art and science, highlighting the significance of phytoplankton like coccolithophores, which play a crucial role in carbon sequestration and marine ecosystems.
