Linking Equilibrium (2003)

Triton Museum, Santa Clara, CA

A collaboration with Bret Parker at the Triton Museum of Art; a sculpture video installation and performance piece_a sense of stability through silence, balance and poise.

Balance as a state or presence of the mind and the body. Poise as a moment where you are not only aware of yourself, but of everything around you; a state of constant movement – a place where there is only the illusion of stillness. Silence to absorb the sounds of the body and the objects that it interacts with.Dreams, memories and invented ideologies of childhood games have informed the work as a means to create an intensely private place in which symbols and images are densely layered and interconnect in silence.

The connections between these layers are often disparate with the intent of defining balance and poise as linked experience reared in individual histories of time and place
